To celebrate La fête de la musique (International Music Day) and the start of summer, the Alliance Française Glasgow is delighted to host a cheese & wine evening with a special performance by acclaimed chanteuse Christine Bovill on Friday 23rd June.
We are once again inviting the talented singer-songwriter who will perform her new show "Paris". Launched last year at the Edinburgh Fringe, the performance immediately won several 5 star reviews.
Ms Bovill will give you a delightful time showcasing the Golden Age of French song, performing some of the most celebrated works of Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Barbara, Charles Aznavour, and more. Open your ears and embark on a delightful journey in the world of French songs.
What is La fête de la musique?
La Fete de la Musique is a long established tradition in France which takes place on 21st June of each year, the day of the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere.
The idea behind it is for every music maker, amateur or professional, to come out onto the streets, the squares, and the cafés to play or sing for free as the public wanders from place to place and from artist to artist. This event embraces all different styles of music and young and emerging musicians are encouraged to take part alongside established performers.

Time : 6.30-9pm
Fees: £20 for AF members / £25
