We are delighted to invite you to a screening of the amazing documentary A voix haute on Wednesday 22nd November.

A VOIX HAUTE / SPEAK UP, directed by Stéphane de Freitas (2016)

Each year at the University of Saint-Denis in the suburbs of Paris, the Eloquentia competition takes place to determine the best orator in the class. "A voix haute" follows the students, who come from a variety of backgrounds and academic disciplines, as they prepare for the competition whilst being coached by public-speaking professionals such as lawyers and slam poets.

Times: 6-7pm: Debating competition /Screening from 7pm
To mark the screening of A voir haute / Speak Up, we are holding a debating competition/joutes oratoires in French in collaboration with the University of Glasgow and the University Strathclyde’s French Departments. The winners will be announced before the screening which will start at 7pm.
