Screening "Napoléon" - Wednesday 27th September

Our partner the Association des Membres de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques (AMOPA) is organising a special screening of an extract taken from Abel Gance’s masterpiece Napoléon (1927).

Napoléon, Act 1, Part 2: ‘Napoleon and the French Revolution’:

Visually stunning and boldly experimental, Abel Gance’s acclaimed silent epic traces the French Emperor’s rise to power. Newly restored with an orchestral score by Carl Davis, Napoléon offers one of the most engrossing, surprisingly modern, experiences of French cinema.

In French, with English intertitles
Running time: 82 mins

The screening will be introduced by Marion Schmid, Professor of French Literature and Film, University of Edinburgh.

Venue: Alliance Française, 3 Park Circus, Glasgow G3 6AX.
Date: Wednesday 27th September 2017
Time: 6pm

Free entry. Registration is not necessary.
