Jean- Marie Gustave Le Clézio was awarded the 2008 Nobel Prize for literature.
Jean- Marie Gustave Le Clézio was awarded the 2008 Nobel Prize for literature a few weeks ago. But who is hiding behind the cryptic JMG initials? Although considered in France as one of the greatest contemporary authors, the news of this international recognition was not unanimously hailed as a great success for French literature and even started a small controversy. The Alliance Française library has compiled a dossier of articles and interviews from the French press to help you discover and better understand this otherwise very discreet writer. Available from the Alliance Française library by JMG Le Clézio are Onitsha, La quarantaine, Révolutions and his latest novel Ritournelle de la Faim (on order). |
