This year’s Aye Write! Bank of Scotland Book Festival returns to Glasgow from 7 – 15 March with a mix of fiction and non-fiction, poetry and prose, crime, comedy, politics and debate - celebrating the rich variety of Glaswegian writing.

Over 5500 tickets for this year’s Aye Write! Bank of Scotland Book Festival have already been sold. The festival returns to Glasgow from 7 – 15 March with a mix of fiction and non-fiction, poetry and prose, crime, comedy, politics and debate - celebrating the rich variety of Glaswegian writing, while bringing the best of Scottish and international writers to the city. Last year the festival attracted an audience of over 25,000 and with such a fantastic line-up we’re looking forward to welcoming an even bigger audience in 2008.” www.ayewrite.com During the festival, Monday 10th March, an hour with two of Glasgow’s leading poets. As well as reading from two of his published books, In My Father’s House and Un Tour D’Ecosse David Kinloch, Reader in English at the University of Strathclyde, will read from his new series of poems about Scottish painters and their relationship with France. Donny O’Rourke, poet, journalist, film–maker and broadcaster will read from two new collections, The Cleft in My Heart and Blame Yesterday, a suite of showtune lyrics. David and Donny are founder directors of the Glasgow poetry society, Vital Synz.
