L’Alliance Française Glasgow embraces La Vie en Vert this April and May

Join us for a series of events celebrating the beauty of the Earth and nature throughout April and May.

Public : Adults

For this month, explore and focus on the Earth : bringing off its textures, colors and ever-changing forms through painting. Guided by artist Chloé, this session in French invites you to unleash your creativity and capture nature’s beauty on canvas. All materials will be provided by Alliance Française.

  • April 25th & May 9th: Outdoor Yoga –  Reconnect with Nature

Public : Adults

Embrace the spring with these outdoor yoga sessions (weather permitting). Come reset and restore your body and mind in this peaceful, natural setting.

Public : Children (2-8yo)

Join our librarian Garance for a delightful storytelling session featuring two charming tales by French author Christian Voltz. After the stories, children can participate in a creative recycled craft activity, making their own fun artworks using upcycled materials—just like Christian Voltz does!

Public : Adults

Join us at the Alliance Française de Glasgow for a screening of the French film Les algues vertes / Green Tide, directed by Pierre Jolivet.

'Face au silence soigneusement gardé autour des algues vertes sur les côtes bretonnes, la journaliste Inès Léraud décide d'enquêter. En rencontrant scientifiques, agriculteurs et politiques, elle met le doigt dans l'engrenage impitoyable de l'industrie agroalimentaire et de ses intérêts qui n'ont que faire de l'humain et de l'environnement.'

'Following the recent deaths of locals on Breton beaches, a reporter comes to investigate the mystery surrounding algae that may be a cause of these tragic events. As evidence is being covered up and threats to her research mount up, she realizes that some politicians with close ties to prominent local corporations are working to stop her from uncovering the shocking truth.'

Public : Babies/ Toddlers

Join our librarian for a fun-filled session of lively songs, rhymes, and stories, perfect for little ones. With Clotilde, our talented accordionist, adding enchanting melodies, this interactive experience will delight both children and adults.

Together, we’ll explore the theme ‘Célébrons la nature’ (Let’s Celebrate Nature)!

  • End of April: Exhibition in Partnership with La Belle Adventure – Cabaret Vert Comics Prize

Founded with the goal of raising awareness about environmental issues, the festival integrates sustainability across every aspect—music, cinema, comics, performances, food, drinks, hospitality, and beyond. The Cabaret Vert thrives on principles of sustainable development, solidarity, and respect for its ecological, social, and economic ecosystem.’
